(Saint John)-Residents living in the Redhead Road area are not happy about the news that  two local construction companies want to expand  their quarries in the area.

Deborah Kneeland  who is chairperson of the Red Head Community Association says  the residents have a number of  concerns about the quarry expansion.

“We have  concerns about wells there are a’lot of private wells even the city well could be affected were  concerned about flooding in low lying areas were concerned about the storm run off and the wildlife as well as property values”

Kneeland says not enough people in the area  were notified about the  proposed changes from Plan SJ.
