SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The World Women’s Curling Championship will rock Saint John in 2014.

The Port City has been selected to host the international tournament that will feature twelve of the best female teams from around the world.

Host committee chair Jeff Lacey says the success of Saint John’s 1999 Would Curling Championships was one of the factors that helped the city land the tournament.

“Obviously our facilities and our great volunteer base that we have here in our community was a big part of our success.”

Lacey predicts 500 volunteers will be needed for the event.

The tournament will take place at Harbour Station March 15th – 23rd.
