GRAND BAY-WESTFIELD, N.B. – Within minutes of its’ ribbon cutting ceremony the new public drop-off at the Crane Mountain Landfill in Grand Bay-Westfield was busy with customers.
The user-friendly site is expected to save the Fundy Solid Waste Commission over $85,000.
Commission chair Emil Olsen says the new drop off has many benefits to the landfill’s customers.
“They’re going to be on paved asphalt. They don’t have to go off into the mud or anything like that. And the areas are all easily marked so they can take a mixture of recycled good to the landfill here.”
The drop off will accept hazardous material, waste, recyclables and compost six days a week.
