ROTHESAY, N.B.- After Christmas, students in the Kennebecasis Valley will no longer be seeing bus number 22.
In a sign of respect the Anglophone South School District is retiring the bus number following the death of a long time and much loved bus driver.
Paul Gallant of French Village died last Sunday after a brief illness at the age of 54.
District Superintendent Zoe Watson says Gallant had a great way with students of all ages. “We have to remember with these drivers that someone like Paul has carried some students from kindergarten through to their graduation year in Grade 12″, says Watson. “This week we were even hearing from students who are past graduates who were certainly feeling very sad”.
Watson says Bus 22 will be replaced by a bus number in the five hundred series and affected families will be notified.
