SAINT JOHN – A number of Saint John based health and business groups are joining forces in an effort to spur more research investment and jobs to the province.

Premier David Alward was on hand for the announcement of the formation of Health and Life Sciences New Brunswick which will include the talents of U.N.B.S.J., Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick, the Saint John Board of Trade among others.

Spokesman Bob Manning says the groups involved in the cluster represent serious intellectual horsepower.

“Greater than 10,000 professionals, support staff, students, parents, teachers arrive on this campus every day,” Manning says. “That’s a mid-sixed community here in the province of New Brunswick.”

The provincial government is contributing $500,000 toward the initiative over two years.
