SAINT JOHN, N.B.- The top players in the National Basketball League of Canada will converge on Saint John in April.

The city has been chosen to host the 2013 All Star game April 13th and 14th.

Saint John Mill Rats General Manager Ian McCarthy lots of events will be held over the two day event. “On Saturday you have things like the three-point shootout, the legends game, the slam dunk contest”, says McCarthy. “On Sunday is the All Star game which will bring all the top players from around the league to participate in one game”.

McCarthy says he hasn’t crunched the numbers yet, but hopes the event can generate at least 500-thousand dollars to the local economy.
