SAINT JOHN, N.B.- A well known Saint John lawyer will be sentenced April 4th after being found guilty of obstruction of justice.

Rod Gillis was charged last November in connection with a case involving his client, former Liberal MLA Frank Branch.

A judge ruled Gillis tried to stop witnesses from testifying against Branch who was facing fraud charges involving the North Shore Forest Products Marketing Board.

The New Brunswick Law Society is also investigating Gillis’ conduct.
