SAINT JOHN, N.B.- We could be in store for some icy and wet weather this morning

A freezing rain warning has been issued for the Saint John and Kennebecasis Valley areas.

Meteorologist Richard Zurawski says it’s not a major disturbance but conditions could be slippery this morning.”There’s a low pressure system that’s developing and moving through”, says Zurawski. “This morning we’ve got some wet snow, some freezing rain and probably by the afternoon it’s all going to change to rain and we’re looking at 10 to 15 millimetres of rain”.

Schools in Belleisle and Sussex are closed today but all other schools in the Anglophone South District are open including Samuel de Champlain and its satellite classes in the KV.

Other areas of the province including Fredericton are under a snowfall warning with 15 to 25 centimetres in the forecast.
