SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The New Brunswick Health council’s latest Population Health Snapshot shows that the province still has some health issues to address.
Overall, the annual review shows improvements in New Brunswick when it comes to access to a regular doctor, smoking and stress.
Council CEO Stephane Robichaud tells the Todd Veinotte Show while obesity rates also seem to be improving, New Brunswick is still heavy.
“We have an obesity challenge that we absolutely need to tackle. If obesity is not well taken care of it can trigger and amplify other conditions so it’s important to address that.”
Heart disease related conditions continue to account for four of the top ten reasons for hospital admissions in 2012,
