Low-Risk Canadians Asked To Wait A Little Longer
TORONTO, ONT. - Public health officials are appealing to Canadians at lower risk of catching H1N1, to wait a little longer. Canada's top doctor says there will be enough vaccine for everyone, eventually. Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. David Butler-Jones admits more people want the vaccine than they had expected and the company making the vaccine underestimated how much a switch on the production line, would affect its output. GlaxoSmithKline will only be able to make slightly more than 400-thousand doses of the vaccine this week -- compared with the one (m) million or so expected. Ontario is pledging to double the number of immunization clinics this week for high-priority groups. |
