Horizon Health Network advising those with influenza-like symptoms to stay home
SAINT JOHN - Beginning today the Horizon Health Network has set up a flu assessment centre at St. Joseph's Community Health Centre to alleviate pressure in the emergency departments. Dr. Edouard Hendriks, Vice-President of Medical Affairs for Horizon Health Network, says if you're feeling really sick with influenza-like symptoms and need to seek medical attention, you can access the flu assessment centre. Dr. Hendriks said only seek care at the ER if your symptoms suddenly get worse, you experience shortness of breath, chest pain and prolonged high fever that cannot be controlled. Hendriks said the Charlotte County Hospital will serve as a flu assessment centre as well. |
