Fitch says Liberals shouldn't use taxpayers money for NB Power ads
FREDERICTON - Former energy minister Bruce Fitch is critical over the fact the governing Liberals launched a million-dollar add campaign this week concerning the proposed sale of NB Power. Fitch was a guest today on the Afternoon News with Tom Young, and said Liberal claims that the province will still be able to develop green energy projects such as wind farms - are not realistic. "They will basically be in competition wit Quebec and they will also have to go in competition on the lines, on the power lines, and if the lines are filled with Quebec Hydro power it's going to be very, very hard for those windmill farms to compete against it," he said. Fitch insisted his party is not fear mongering, and said the Liberals should not be spending taxpayers money to promote their decision. |
