No Jungle Love For Lioness In Moncton
MONCTON, NB - The Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton is sending it's 10 year old lioness to another zoo. Manager Bruce Dougan says efforts to integrate 'Kito' with two young lion cubs acquired earlier this year have failed. Dougan says Kito became very angry and aggressive with the male cub when he wouldn't mate with her. He says the older animal is being re-located to her zoo of origin in Seagrave, Ontario. Dougan says, "They have 14 lions there and they have three prides of older animals, one of which is all females and we're going to see if that will work out." Meanwhile, Dougan says Magnetic Hill is sending some of its primates to Quebec and Ontario zoos under the animal exchange program.
