More H1N1 flu clinics cancelled
FREDERICTON - Many New Brunswickers are going to have to wait if they want to be vaccinated against the H1N1 virus. The province has shut down seventy-nine clinics planned for today through Remembrance Day because supplies are running out. The vast majority were in the Saint John area, and most targeted school children. Health officials say supplies are low, and getting lower. New Brunswick is set to receive its next shipment of the vaccine this week - but the 11-thousand doses are less than a quarter of what was expected. Still, the province's Chief Medical Officer of Health Doctor Eilish Cleary said New Brunswick is ahead of the game, since vaccinations were originally to begin later this month. "I think it's all still good," Cleary told Global News. "Although some people have had to wait in line and there have been some frustrations through cancelled clinics, I think I'm much happier having people vaccinated sooner than later." Clinics in Fredericton, Miramichi and Woodstock are still scheduled to go ahead, and pregnant women can now be immunized with a recently-delivered unaduvanted vaccine.
