Fire Crews battle North End Blaze
SAINT JOHN, NB - City fire crews battled a blaze at 333 Main Street in the North End last night. District Chief, Gerry Morris says crews were called out around 6:30. He says when they arrived flames were shooting from the rear of the building which contains Batch Bakery and several apartments. Morris says, "Fire crews went to work and brought the fire under control, crews were on scene for approximately four hours and there was heavy damage from fire and smoke throughout the apartment building." Morris says there were no injuries but eight people have been displaced by the fire. No word on a cause, the investigation continues. |
