Third-storey kitchen fire

 Saint John, N.B. - The kitchen in a third-storey apartment building in Saint John's south end sustained smoke, fire and water damage yesterday afternoon.

Crews responded to the structure fire around 2:45 p.m., and upon arrival saw smoke rolling out of a third-storey window at 144 Carmarthen Street.

Crews quickly knocked down the blaze and were on the scene for about an hour.

There were no injuries, the cause is under investigation.
