SAINT JOHN, N.B. - The provincial government recently decided to give up the fight to stop Canadian Blood Services from leaving the province but that decision may have also been discussed at the federal level.
Fundy River Valley MLA Dr. Jim Parrott says the province approached the federal government on a number of levels. "We went to the federal government, we went to the council of health ministers, we went to the federal health minister, we went directly to the Prime Minister and we were told to "play ball" with Canadian Blood Services, essentially."
Parrott says the whole situation regarding C.B.S. is a mess.
