SAINT JOHN, N.B.- Another messy winter storm is set to hit the region today.
Less than a week after a blast of winter lead to accidents on roads around the province, a system pushing in from south of the Great Lakes will likely make for a slow drive home.
Meterologist Richard Zurawski says a mixed bag of precipitation is in store for southern New Brunswick. "White, that's pretty much it in a nutshell", says Zurawski. "We're getting about ten centimetres of snow and ice pellets before it switches over to freezing rain late this afternoon".
Zurawski notes the change over from snow to rain will make the roads slick this afternoon into this evening.
The snow isn't expected to last for long though with tonight's temperatures reaching between 5 and 6 degrees.
Officials in School Districts 6,8, (including Samuel de Champlain), and 10 are closed today. Schools are also shutdown in the Fredericton and Miramichi areas.
