SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Fundy River Valley MLA Dr. Jim Parrott says that the provincial government had talked with the federal Health Minister as well as the Prime Minister over the move of Canadian Blood Services from New Brunswick.

Saint John M.P. Rodney Weston says there was a letter that did come from the Prime Minister to Premier Alward about the C.B.S. issue.

"There was a peace correspondence that came from the Prime Minister to the Premier that was very clear about the relationship of the federal government with respective CBS and the Premier sought that advice from the Prime Minister. It was very public."

Weston said he organized a meeting with both the provincial and federal health ministers to discuss the issue.
