MONCTON, NB - The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization stands ready to spring into action should Hurricane Earl wreak havoc this weekend.
The EMO's Andy Morton is encouraging us to heed warnings about the impending storm and make sure our homes are stocked with enough supplies for several days.
"We encourage folks to develop an emergency plan for their own household and to have an emergency kit all ready to go in the event something bad really does happen." says Morton.
He says in addition to food and water, people should make sure they have enough medication and other essentials on hand (ie. baby formula and diapers) so they're not looking for outside help as soon as the storm hits.
Meawhile, Morton says the provincial EMO is keeping abreast of all the latest information from Environment Canada to determine which areas of the province may be impacted by the storm.
