In November of 2004, the Canadian Radio, Television and Telecommunications, the C.R.T.C., awarded Rogers Media a license for a new radio broadcasting undertaking in the City of Saint John, New Brunswick.
On October 11th, 2005 at 5:30 AM, the station signed on to begin what we believe will be a long and successful commitment to the region.
Our official call letters are CHNI-FM, but you know us as NEWS 88-9.
